Mr. Brandt has been an active real estate investor in office, multifamily, and debt investments where he has held leadership positions over his career at many investment banks and private equity firms. Mr. Brandt previously was a Managing Director at Wells Fargo Bank in Los Angeles where he was the National Originations Director for Wells Fargo’s CMBS business. While working at institutions such as Wells Fargo Bank, Trust Company of the West, JP Morgan, Greenwich Capital, and Menlo Equities, Mr. Brandt has successfully led and built investment teams and lent and invested over $35 billion in real estate transactions.
Mr. Brandt was a member of the Board of Directors of the UCLA Ziman Center for Real Estate as well as a Governor of the Mortgage Bankers Association. He is Chairman of the Stanford Professionals in Real Estate, the largest alumni association at Stanford University. He is a Trustee for life of the Huntington Hospital in Pasadena where he is Chairman of its Finance and Investment Committee helping manage the Hospital’s $800 million endowment.
He holds an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and a Masters degree from MIT in commercial real estate. He is married, has two children, and currently resides in Laguna Beach, CA.
Mr. Azar is the Director of Acquisitions where he identifies, structures, and executes multifamily investments for the company. He also handles asset management and investor relations efforts for the company. Mr. Azar has been an active real estate investor in multifamily, office, industrial, hospitality, single family, and debt investments throughout his career.
Mr. Azar previously worked at Tricon Residential in San Francisco focused on acquisitions, fund management, investor relations, and strategic corporate initiatives. Prior to that, Mr. Azar worked at Mirae Asset Global Investments in Los Angeles where he focused on acquisitions, asset management, and investor relations. Additionally, he has also worked at Wells Fargo Bank in both San Francisco and Los Angeles originating construction, bridge, and CMBS loans for some of the country's largest and most established developers and private equity firms. Over his career, Mr. Azar has over $3 billion in real estate transaction experience.
He holds an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business.
Mr. Dempsey is a Senior Associate at Capital Funding Partners focused on acquisitions, asset management, and investor relations for the company. Mr. Dempsey has several years of real estate investment experience executing multifamily, student housing, industrial, and office debt and equity transactions with over $2 billion of transaction experience.
Previously, Mr. Dempsey worked at Benefit Street Partners in New York City on their Multifamily Equity and Mortgage REIT groups in an underwriting and asset management capacity. Prior to Benefit Street Partners, Mr. Dempsey worked with Savills in New York City where he focused on brokerage transactions for Manhattan office real estate.
He holds an undergraduate degree from Stanford University and was part of the Stanford Cardinals D-1 wrestling team for five years and a member of the Stanford Professionals in Real Estate (SPIRE).
Mr. Castleman is the co-founder of SCSH Development CapFund’s property and development manager. SCSH manages all of CapFund’s properties and assists with development and construction management. Founded in 2008, SCSH Development manages over 500 units of student and market rate housing across California. Mr. Castleman is a graduate of the American University in Washington D.C. and The Sturm College of Law at the University of Denver. In 1998, Marc started his career as an attorney for the Fair Housing Institute in Los Angeles. His duties including working with developers, property managers and local governments. His clients included large scale developers as well as several Southern California cities and counties. In 2001, he started his own practice which expanded his work to traditional real estate law while at the same time developing his own projects. He took an active role in purchasing, repositioning and managing apartments, condominiums and mobile home parks throughout Southern California. In 2006 he received a Masters of Real Estate Development from the University of Southern California.
